About Meakea

 

Meakea Aphiwadh (Meakea) means a “Path to Development” is a non-profit, non-political and child-focused development organization founded in mid 2004 by a Cambodian Mr. Sil Sineng with a support from friends and officially registered by the Royal Government of Cambodia on 20 January 2005.

 

It is dedicated to work in partnership with all people who have the same interest on building human capital and creating an educational opportunity for unprivileged children and youth in remote and urban poor communities.

 

Its linked to Singapore is through a volunteer, Mr. Tan Peng Ann to establish a first child education center in Takeo province where is the centre from which Meakea expands its programs to new communities.

 

Meakea believes that ownership and development are inherent rights for all. Poor communities need to be recognized and allowed to participate in their own advancement; through sustainable development and ownership. We believe in empowering the poor and vulnerable and encouraging them to use their own potential to prosper.
